Places to stay in Rowen

Welcome to Rowen walking

Message from Rev. David Parry, Vicar of Conwy…

Individuals (or members of the same household) are able to pray privately in three local churches.  Careful risk assessment, preparation and cleaning regimes were required to get permission.  Access is only allowed at these times, with numbers limited to preserve social distancing.

Please stay away if you or a contact have any Covid-like symptoms (and don’t all come on the first session!)
St John’s Methodist Conwy, Tuesdays 10-11am from 7th July
St Peter’s Llanbedr-y-Cennin, Wednesdays 11am-12 noon from 8th July
St Mary’s Caerhun, Saturdays 1-3pm, from 11th July
Many thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to make this possible.

“Pub” Quiz – 7.20pm Friday 10th July

We are going to have a go at running a virtual “pub” quiz for anyone who is interested on Friday 10th July starting at 7.30pm.

Some practicalities:

We will be running this on the Zoom platform so you will need to have this downloaded onto your device beforehand (you can do this by following this link – www.zoom.us/download ) – otherwise you won’t be able to join in!

The quiz room will open at 7.20 – giving us all time to get settled.

Zoom limits free meetings to 40 minutes. So, we will take a “comfort” break at 8.00pm, and then start a second 40 minute session at 8.15pm.

Please send your request to join the Quiz to charleshawkins.rgc@gmail.com by 7th July. A receipt email will be sent along with your log-in details for both meetings, and an answer sheet for your convenience.

As this is the first time we are doing this, and there will be a bit of learning as we go along, there will be no charge to join 😀, but neither will there be any raffle or prizes.😞

We hope it will be fun for everyone.

Charles Hawkins

Would you like to contribute information for the Rowen website?
We’d love to hear from you, with old pictures, favourite walks, local history, wildlife, tales from Rowen etc.

The village of Rowen in Snowdonia National Park is a great place to live, and to make your permanent full-time home.  You can be part of it.
Rowen  has an active and welcoming community, superfast broadband, and there’s Welsh singing in the Ty Gwyn Hotel on Friday evenings (under normal circumstances). We’re just five miles from Conwy.
We have a good bus service and schools and shops nearby.
Rowen is sheltered by the mountains and close to the sea.  It has a pleasant climate, and it’s great for hill walking all the year round, gardening, bird watching and horse riding, and we have good access to water sports.
This is our home.  We all love living here and we hope you will too!

Croeso i Rowen

Adnabyddir Rowen fel un o bentrefi harddaf yn Nyffryn Conwy ac yn fan cychwyn poblogaidd i deithiau cerdded ar fryniau a mynyddoedd yr ardal. Mae hefyd yn fan delfrydol i fyw ynddo.

Lleolwyd Rowen yng nghysgod y mynyddoedd oddi mewn i Barc Cenedlaethol Eryri ac o fewn cyrraedd agos i’r arfordir. Mae hinsawdd hyfryd yma, gyda nifer o erddi prydferth a digonedd o lwybrau cerdded gwych.

Pob dwy flynedd, bydd Diwrnod Gerddi Agored Rowen yn denu dros 900 o ymwelwyr i’r gerddi agored.

Mae’r gymuned yn Rowen yn un fywiog a chroesawgar dros ben ac fe glywir canu Cymraeg yn nhafarn Y Tŷ Gwyn pob nos Wener. Mae Rowen yn agos at dref Conwy a Llandudno ac mae dewis da o ysgolion a siopau gerllaw. Byddwch wrth eich bodd yma!

Gobeithio y byddwch yn hoffi’r wefan gymunedol a byddwn yn falch o dderbyn eich sylwadau.
